Attention Upper East Siders: Elaine’s—the restaurant at 88th Street and Second Avenue owned ’til 2011 by the beloved Elaine Kaufman—will reopen in the fall as the Writing Room. According to Zagat, restauranteurs Michael and Susy Glick of Parlor Steakhouse are keen on honoring the legacy of the space, which has seen scribes such as Candace Bushnell and Norman Mailer, creating an authentic, delicious experience for diners.
